Registering for online services
Before you can make any online submission
you must first register online
with HM Revenue & Customs. Once you are fully
registered you will have a User ID and password that can be used to
gain secure access to HMRC’s Online Services. To file your
annual return you will use the 'PAYE Online' service. Please
allow a few days to register as you will need a PIN number to
complete the registration - this will be sent to you through the
post. For those of you that have already performed this
process, perhaps in a previous year, your registration should still
be valid.

What do I need to file online?
A PC with an Internet connection.
Ideally, this will be the same machine, or one of the machines,
that runs your IRIS Payroll Professional software.
Prepare early - don’t wait until year end!
The key to successful online filing is prior
preparation. If you have decided to move to electronic filing
this year, we strongly recommend that you setup the software well
in advance of the tax year end. This will relieve some of the
pressure that is inevitable at that time of year and will give you
more time to become familiar with the online filing
process.
More importantly, there will be
opportunities to perform a test submission which should help you
identify any potential problems and give you more confidence when
you come to file for real.
Setting up your software
Once you have obtained your user ID and
password, you will need to enter these into IRIS Payroll
Professional along with various details about how you want to
send your return.

How do I configure Online Services?
Configuring your software for online filing is also explained
fully in the Help files and we recommend you read this
thoroughly.
See ‘Help, IPP Help, Chapter 13’.
Note: If you need to
combine companies or make multiple submissions, it is particularly
important to read and understand the correct procedures well in
advance of making your submission.
