Below you will find a selection of the most common
printing issues the IRIS Support team is asked about
Please note: Many printing errors are generated
by printer software, not IRIS software. We advise that you check
with the printer manufacturer to determine whether the error is a
known issue for them, as they will be in a stronger position to
quickly confirm and rectify the issue.
If you believe the error is with IRIS PAYE-Master please provide
the details of the error message to Support, to assist them in
solving your problem as quickly as possible.
Error messages when printing
IRIS PAYE-Master payroll uses third party software, Crystal
Reports, to generate your reports.
Occasionally, your PC may not have successfully registered the
required Crystal Report system files, enabling you to
print. In these circumstances, uninstalling and reinstalling
IRIS PAYE-Master fixes the problem.
The version of Microsoft Internet Explorer can affect the
Crystal Reports’ ability to create your report. Ensuring that
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 is installed, even if you don’t use
the Internet on the same PC on which you operate IRIS
PAYE-Master.NET (or you prefer to use a different browser when
using the Internet), will confirm that your operating system has
the required system components required by Crystal Reports to
generate your report.
Poor print quality
Please try replacing your ink cartridge/toner/ribbon to see if
this fixes the problem. You should also try printing a
document via other software, perhaps Microsoft Word, to see if you
experience the same poor quality.
You may wish to try printing the report from the screen view to see
if this improves the print out, rather than direct to the printer
(or vice-versa).
