Help With printing Year End forms using IRIS PAYE-Master

Do you have Online filing questions?

The following section offers assistance and tips regarding printing the P14/P60 Year End forms.

Check which version of IRIS PAYE-Master is currently in use – you must have v5.6.4 installed.  Please click here to download.

Click the Year-End drop down menu and select ‘Print Laser/Inkjet P14s’ and then choose the option ‘Print Laser/Inkjet P60s’ or ‘Print Continuous P14/P60s’ as appropriate.

When printing using Laser/Inkjet forms there are four different colour forms to print, therefore you need to do FOUR individual print runs, changing the coloured form each time.

When printing using 4-part Continuous forms, only ONE print run is needed as all four copies will be printed at the same time.

The P14 forms should be distributed according to the colour of the form:

  • P14 (orange copy) goes to HMRC
  • P14 (green copy) goes to HMRC
  • P14 (black copy) is a file copy and should be kept for your own records

HMRC prefer to receive the forms alphabetically, by surname.

TIP: To do this simply ensure that you have selected the ‘Surname’ sort order within the print dialog window.

You should check the alignment prior to printing the forms. It is recommended that you test on plain paper and avoid wasting your Year-End stationery. In order to check the alignment of the forms for a single Employee please click on the select button and enter a page range from 1 to 1. Now, click ‘OK’ on this screen and continue to click ‘OK’ on the following screens to print the report.

Compare your plain paper report to the supplied Year-End stationery. Please note that the alignment of the printing needs to be very precise; the forms will be rejected if any of the printing touches or crosses the boxes.

If the printing needs to be realigned, click on the margins button and adjust your margins accordingly. Suitable margins to begin with are:

Top margin    0.51”

Left margin    0.51”

Line height     240

Please note that the margin settings can vary depending on the printer. You will need to repeat the steps until you are happy that the forms correctly align.

TIP: Bureau users: Setting the correct margins in one company will automatically set the margins for ALL other companies.

For more information on margins, please use the Help file in IRIS PAYE-Master.  Search for "General Print Adjustments".
