You may find that the IRIS PAYE-Master feature to create a new
company, based on a back up file, is a useful tool for you to
use.
Your backup file will have the extension .DTA. It
doesn’t necessarily have to be a backup file you have specifically
created whilst using IRIS PAYE-Master, and may be a data file you
already have (for example, your data files may be on an old PC, and
you now wish to bring your current data to a new PC).
With IRIS PAYE-Master open, select the
Utilities menu, and choose Import Data
File.
This will open the Import Data Files
window.
Ensure that you have enough licences available (as indicated
in the top left hand corner) to allow you create new companies, and
click the Create Company From Backup button.
This will open up a standard Microsoft Windows dialog box,
entitled Open.
Using this window, locate the backup file you wish to use to
re-create the company. In the example shown, our backup file
is located in a folder called IRIS Software
Ltd. Select the file you wish to use, and press the
Open button.
