Important Update for
Payroll Year End 2008
Please find important information regarding the v5.6.4
Year End upgrade below:
We have discovered a potential problem when you
return to your Year
End data after clearing the 2007/08 Year End totals in v5.6.4 of
IRIS PAYE-Master.
We have already addressed this and it is extremely
important to use the solution as described below.
In a very small number of cases, the File/Year-end Data function
can cause potential problems with the company database file.
It is extremely important you use the solution below, before
attempting to use the File/Year-end Data function.
Please note: You may also encounter issues when
restoring a backup or recovering your pre-finalise data.
We are aware of the pressures and importance of payroll year end to
our customers and we endeavour to give simple, straightforward
solutions to any issues encountered. Whilst we believe the
issue we are alerting you to will affect relatively few customers,
previous feedback indicates customers want us to be proactive and
keep them informed.
Step 1
Please ensure IRIS PAYE-Master, IRIS HR Manager and IRIS
Bookkeeping are closed before commencing the download.
Step 2
Please click here to download the solution. (60

Note: This is a
compressed ZIP file. You should ensure that you have a method
of unzipping the file, before downloading the upgrade. You
may wish to visit the WinZip website, as a
provider of a suitable file compression/decompression
utility. If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000, or
Microsoft Windows XP, these operating systems are pre-equipped with
unzipping technology.
Step 3
Click on the 'Save' button.
Step 4
We recommend you save the file to
your 'Desktop'.
Step 5
Once the file has downloaded to your Desktop,
double-click on the zip folder 'Payroll_Year_End
release_issue.zip' to open a new window.
If you are using Windows XP please proceed directly to
Step 7.
Step 6 (Windows Vista Users ONLY)
At this point you must extract the zip file from the
folder. We suggest you copy the .exe file to your
desktop. Once extracted, right click on
'Payroll_Year_End_release issue.exe' and select
Run as Administrator from the drop down
menu.
A Security Warning window will open advising
The publisher could not be
verified. Click
Run.
The User Account Control window will
open. Click Allow.
Windows Vista users please proceed to Step
8.
Step 7
Double left click on the file named
'Payroll_Year_End_release issue.exe'. If you see a
dialog box warning that 'The publisher could not be
verified', click
Run.
Step 8
The WinZip Self-Extractor utility will then open.
Click on the 'Unzip' button. You will see a
dialog box '2 file(s) unzipped successfully',
click 'OK' to continue.
Step 9
Click 'Close' to exit the Winzip self extractor
utility.
Step 10
Open IRIS PAYE-Master and continue as normal.
