On July 11 2006 Microsoft stopped supporting their Windows 98
and Windows ME operating systems. Furthermore on October 10 2006
they will withdraw support for Windows XP Service Pack 1.
What does this mean to me?
It means that, in future, any conflicts
between Software and Operating System will not be fixed or
responded to by Microsoft. And therefore IRIS will not be in a
position to provide a fix either.
What do IRIS recommend?
We recommend you run our products on
Windows XP
Service pack 2.
Support for Windows Vista will be introduced
throughout 2007. Please click here for
details.
Although most of our products will currently
run on Windows 98, Windows Me and Windows XP Service Pack1, there
may be some areas of conflict. These problem areas are likely to be
around reporting and Internet filing.
Where conflicts arise and cannot be fixed due
to Microsoft’s withdrawal of support, we will inform you and
recommend you upgrade your operating system.
When will IRIS follow Microsoft and
withdraw support for Windows 98, Windows Me and Windows XP Service
Pack1?
The May 2007 release of IRIS
PAYE-Master will be the last release to be tested on Windows 98.
After this point patches and releases will only be available for
Windows XP Service Pack2 onwards.
IRIS HR Manager and IRIS Bookkeeping dates are to be
confirmed.
(NB. The next legislation release of IRIS
PAYE-Master after May 2007 will be April 2008. Please check
the hardware requirements for Windows XP)
