This section contains FAQs for using IRIS GP Payroll.
IRIS GP Payroll fails to install from the CD or after
installation it fails to operate, suggesting that certain modules
are not loaded on your computer.
You will have to log on as the Administrator and run IRIS GP
Payroll MODULES.EXE on the CD. Your computer will not load certain
Windows modules unless you are logged-on as the ‘Administrator’.
This small program on the CD will load the required modules.
You wish to transfer IRIS GP Payroll to another computer.
You need the latest IRIS GP Payroll CD and a fresh back up of
Payroll data.
You want to link to the Payroll from another PC in the practice
network.
Read and/or print the file README.DOC which is on all Payroll
CDs. This will explain how to use IRIS GP Payroll INSTALLCLIENT.EXE
to create a link.
You want to change the practice name which appears on your
payslips.
Send a fax or email to the helpline (0844 815 5681) with
the new name for payslips (max 30 characters). A disc to
change the name will be sent by return.
You need to install previous years’ payrolls.
This can be done using Setup/Option screen 15. You may be able
to access the last 3 years as they were stored automatically when
you upgraded. If IRIS GP Payroll indicates that the data is missing
it can be reloaded. For details of loading previous years’
payrolls.
You cannot see all of the Payroll screens - some screens seem
too big for your terminal.
IRIS GP Payroll requires the screen resolution to be at least
800x600.
The icon for IRIS GP Payroll has disappeared from the
desktop.
If the icon has been deleted by accident it can be re-created.
Right-click on a blank part of the desktop. Choose
New and then Shortcut. Use the
Browse button to find IRIS GP Payroll which is
PAYWIN.EXE and is usually found in the C:/Payroll folder. Finish
the new icon wizard.
